Where did Emmeline come from?

Emmeline and Friends is a subscription-based letter service to receive personalised handwritten notes and gifts from Emmeline and her fairy friends!

Helen - mother, and self-employed business development manager - recruited Emmeline several years ago to help her daughter, Emmy, realise her full potential as a non-worrier! By befriending Emmy at a crucial age (she was 7 at the time) and sending little gifts from Wingwash, Emmeline brought a sprinkle of fairy joy, bravery, and peace to Emmy’s otherwise hectic life.

Just before this, Emmy and her parents had moved from Suffolk to London to live with and care for an elderly parent who was suffering from Alzheimer’s. This huge change, on top of a transition to a new school with no ready-made friends, was daunting for Emmy who really benefited from Emmeline’s letters and took genuine pleasure in the small offerings from Wingwash. In fact, the little gifts built up and up to create an entire fairy-furnished patch of land in her bedroom. This made visits for Emmeline much more fun too as she could sit and relax with fairy-sized trinkets and toys. Life with Alzheimer’s is not all doom and gloom, and Emmy has been a very loving and caring granddaughter throughout (she still is!). There has even been much laughter and, with it, the inspiration for our very forgetful fairy, Maria Mindfull. Emmy’s dad, Paul, is an artist and the inspiration for the hairy, Laup, who will help to illustrate the letters.

Supporting the general well-being, confidence, and happiness of young children aged between 4 and 10 is the motivation behind Emmeline and Friends new monthly subscription service. Hopefully, it will also take some pressure off parents and carers who don’t particularly enjoy writing or, more likely, simply don’t have the time to write regularly. With letters arriving monthly from Wingwash to give a rare insight into the incredible toing and froing of fairies and hairies, Emmeline and Friends is sure to appeal to children everywhere.
