  • Yes, all packaging and postage is included in the subscription fee for delivery to all UK and Channel Island addresses. If you live outside this region, there will be an additional £4.00 delivery fee for rest of world.

  • Emmeline and Friends bring little gifts from Wingwash that will delight and inspire. Although fairy-sized and, often of a consumable nature in all of Fairworth, the transition to human world (for some reason even yet unknown to the inhabitants of Wingwash) renders the gifts as ‘toys’ i.e. NOT edible. The fairies and hairies are not worried about this since it means that they will have fairy-sized trinkets and toys to play with on their visits too. All they ask is that the gifts, being fairy-sized, are stored carefully somewhere safe. Being small they could easily get lost and, depending on their age, the recipient may need some help from parents/guardians to unwrap and store safely. Emmeline hopes that the gifts will build up to make a delightful fairy stash of goodies for their human friends to enjoy for a long time to come – even after they have reached a stage of forgetting that fairies and hairies really do exist.

  • During checkout, you will be asked questions about the recipients likes and dislikes so that Emmeline can ensure letters are tailored to each individual. This makes the letters so much more personal and enjoyable to read. Full of stories from Wingwash and beyond, little ones can revisit the stories again and again, eventually building up an image of what life is really like for the fairies, hairies and other creatures living in the magical world of Fairworth.

  • This is to be expected, especially with the very little ones who can be particularly fickle when it comes to favourites. Not a problem, this can be done by getting in touch with Emmeline and Friends via email to provide an update at any time. Just quote the recipient’s name, address and order number and we will be sure to pass on the details to Emmeline.

  • Emmeline and Friends send letters that impart magical information to children about life in Wingwash and beyond (Fairworth which is the secret world of fairies and hairies). Each letter features details about the different characters, where they live, the jobs they have and the exciting adventures they get up to. With plenty of colourful illustrations, each letter will be 4-6 pages long - perfect as a bedtime story read to little ones and fun to read independently by older children. Emmeline and Friends will tackle some relevant issues about growing up through detailing their own experiences in Wingwash (dealing with change, grumpy friends, homework, feeling scared or worried etc. etc.) and will always leave positive and heart-warming messages to encourage children to feel confident and happy, as well kind and considerate to others.

  • Yes, assuming that you have completed the subscription form with all the personalisation details (which includes birthday), Emmeline will send a birthday postcard with extra special gift to arrive in time.  There is no extra charge for this special occasion gift and message.  Emmeline loves birthdays! ☺

  • All children are different but, based on our experiences, the letters are great for children aged anywhere from 4 to 10 years old. Having said that, we have had lots of positive comments from parents and grandparents who enjoy reading them too.

  • Emmeline and her friends would say so but, of course, there may still be a stigma associated with boys reading letters from a fairy. This is a shame because the stories are relevant to all. Hairies certainly add an element of masculinity to the stories but, in Fairworth, there tends not to be too much inference or reference/relevance to gender.

  • Yes, anyone can subscribe on behalf of a child whether they be a parent, grandparent, aunt, adult friend etc. During checkout, you will be able to provide your details, and those of the recipient (who the letter will be addressed to, their address and personal details) etc. Since we don’t want to spoil the magic, the recipient won’t know that someone has subscribed on their behalf.

However, we WILL include a handwritten ‘welcome card’ with the first letter that gives an explanation as to who the fairies ‘heard from’ about wanting the recipient to receive letters, so giving credit where credit is due. This is an example of what the welcome card will contain:

    Dear NAME

We heard NAME(S) talking about fairies and hairies and how you might like to get letters from us. We also heard your name mentioned in the Forest of Whispering Trees, so we knew for sure that it was time to get in touch.

Thanks to NAME(S) being just a little bit magic, here we are.

Welcome to Wingwash, a country in the secret world of Fairworth, where all the fairies and hairies live!

    Love from, Emmeline xxx

  • Yes, you can subscribe for up to three siblings/members of the same household on a single letter subscription. There is an extra cost of just £2.50 per additional child which allows for an extra gift each and additional postage cost. Remember to complete the personalisation details for each child when completing the subscription process.

  • Yes, this is possible. Since we appreciate that some subscribers may wish to place a letter themselves e.g. by a fairy door. In this case, the letter can be sealed in a plain envelope addressed to the subscriber with the recipient’s envelope enclosed but not sealed. Please indicate if this is your preference during the form in the email confirmation. There will be no extra charge for this service. If not indicated, the letter will posted directly to the recipient.

  • We have a regular postal service through each month so that orders will be delivered within 5-7 working days from receipt of order. For any urgent deliveries please contact us to let us know your preference and we will endeavour to meet your requirements.

  • We hope that you wouldn’t want to, but it is easy for you to do so. Either log on to your customer account via our website and cancel it yourself, or contact us via email and we will remove you from the mailing list. When we receive your cancellation notice all future letters and payments will be stopped. You will be given the opportunity to receive one more letter (with payment) that explains why Emmeline will no longer be writing.

  • Not a problem. Subscribe via the website but please indicate in the Notes section that this is a RENEWAL and quote your original order number. This way, letters can resume from the point they were left rather than restarting from the beginning. This is important since each letter builds on the overall story about Emmeline and her friends in Wingwash. For any further clarification, you can always contact us via email.

  • Emmeline has a letter for this very purpose. She explains clearly that it is only to be expected that, as children get older, they will decide that fairies and hairies are ‘too young’ for them and perhaps don’t even really exist. The inhabitants of Wingwash don’t resent this at all and understand that it is simply ‘the way of things’. Emmeline writes with love and reassurance in a sign-off that leaves the mystery and intrigue open, without expecting any belief set to continue. When the time comes, you can let us know when Emmeline should send this final letter. Just contact us via email.
